It has become official that all our flaps can be purchased at Singapore dollars SGD$45 each online

This lucky dude you see in the picture below goes by the name of SIM JINWEI and he is a happy Grand Prize winner in the Slow loris Memory Challenge held during the Start-Up Story event! (see previous post)

Jinwei walked away with a Messenger Bag of his choice, and he chose the Battle of Man with Unicorn, arguably our most masculine design…Congratulations JINWEI!!

ALL our winners walked away with a prize of their choice as well, so we’d like to say a huge CONGRATULATION once again to our Memory Challenge winners!

Slow loris was one of the featured start-ups at The Start- Up Story, an event aimed at promoting Youth Entrepreneurship, which was held on 19^th June 2009.

During this event, youths from the various institutions in Singapore got the chance to understand how young individuals like themselves succeeded on their entrepreneurial quest. These entrepreneurs-to-be also got their burning questions were answered by an experienced Panel. This Panel comprised Elim Chew of 77^th Street, who was also the Guest-of-Honour, and Nicholas Chan, the Managing Director of Fredrik Marine and also the Executive Director of Azione Capital.

Furthermore, emerging start-ups were given the chance to showcase their products to Venture Capitalists and Government agencies. The Slow loris booth was filled with our vibrant products, informational material, and even featured a Memory Challenge where participants stood a chance to win a Messenger Bag of their choice!(see next post)

Psst…can you spot our founder, Sarah, all smiles as she receives a prize on stage? Slow loris actually bagged the “Most Promising Start-Up” title, based on all the “Votes of Confidence” that were cast by our supporters and those impressed by our booth!

Our founder, Sarah, had the honour of being invited to speak at the 2^nd National Youth Programme Symposium, which was attended mainly by members from the current Scouting Units of the Boy Scouts.

This event aimed to provide youth leaders with a platform to update and learn about the latest practices on Youth leadership, Youth initiatives from government agencies, and was also an occasion for the exchange of ideas and best practices.  

As Sarah is a lucky and deserving recipient of the Young Entrepreneurs Scheme funded by SPRING Singapore, she was asked to speak about how she began her journey as a young entrepreneur, and the experiences she gained along the way. (psst…in case you’re in the dark…our pretty founder is also the poster girl for the Scheme!)

Sarah had a blast at the event, telling her story and introducing Slow loris products to the Scouts and invited guests, one of whom was the Guest of Honour, Ms. Denise Phua Lay Peng, MP of Jalan Besar GRC! The Boy Scouts were also fascinated by our trendy and innovative messenger bags with its interchangeable flaps, and one of them even bought 3 extra flaps because he liked so many of the artistic designs in our range!
